The organizers of an annual Masters Week concert are expected to announce this morning it’s moving to Columbia County.

The First Tee of Augusta officials are making a 10 a.m. announcement about the Drive for Show, Rock Fore! Dough IX at the Lady Antebellum Pavilion in the Evans Towne Center Park, according to a press release from First Tee of Augusta.

The concert was previously held at The First Tee on Damascus Road in Augusta.

“We’re always looking for new ways to grow this event and raise more funding for The First Tee of Augusta,” according to Executive Director Jill Brown in the press release.

All proceeds from the show support The First Tee of Augusta, the Augusta chapter of The First Tee Network. Rock Fore! Dough raised nearly $550,000 in the previous eight years. Since it began in 1997,The First Tee opened more than 200 learning facilities worldwide, established more than 335 affiliate relationships with existing golf courses and introduced more than 2.3 million young people to golf.

Makes little sense...

Such a poor written article...why is moving it to Columbia County a way to grow this event? I guess that one quote is all the reader needs right? Plus all the proceeds support a cause in Augusta, but the people of columbia county have to put up with the traffic and sound from the show...blah. Better way to grow this event is to get a real concert going not Goo-Dolls duet with Darius Rucker.
