The boat ramps at Columbia County’s Wildwood Park have been shut down because of low water levels in Clarks Hill Lake.
Columbia County Recreation and Events Manager Stacie Adkins made the announcement Thursday afternoon in an email news release, and said the “mega-ramps” at the park will be closed to the public until further notice.
“We will continue to monitor the pool levels and the ramps will be reopened when the water level is acceptable for safe boat launching,” Adkins said.
After months of extended drought, the currently lake level is just above 315 feet – the limit of the end of Wildwood’s ramps, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Full pool for Clarks Hill Lake is 330 feet above sea level, according to the Corps of Engineers.
