There won’t be any career county commissioners in Columbia County.
Columbia County voters for a special referendum item on Tuesday’s ballot that would impose term limits on county commissioners. Nearly 86 percent of the votes cast were in favor of the measure and it passed in every precinct in the county.
Tuesday’s ballot also had two state constitutional amendments, one granting the state authority to establish charter schools and another paving the way for state agencies to enter into multiyear rental agreements. Both amendment passed both in Columbia County and on the state level.
