A man called authorities Friday after he said a woman followed him into a parking lot and pointed a gun at him.

The 37-year-old man said he pulled into the parking lot of the Spirit Halloween store on Bobby Jones Expressway at about 5 p.m. A woman followed him into the lot and pulled up next to him. He approached her vehicle and noticed she was pointing a pistol at him.

The man said he yelled at the woman and called for his wife to call 911 and get the license plate number.

As the woman tried to drive away, the man said he hooked his arm in the woman’s car door and lifted his feet so he didn’t get trapped between the vehicles. He yelled for her to stop, which she finally did. The man ran back to his wife.

The woman said the man had cut her off in traffic on the way to the store. She passed him but then pulled into the lot behind him because she planned to go into the same store. She said the man slammed on brakes, causing her to nearly hit his vehicle. The woman said both doors flew open and the man approached her.

The woman said she pulled out her handgun, set it on the armrest and told the man to get back in his car. The man told her, “You’re going to jail. I’m a Marine.” She said the man hooked his arm in her window as she drove away and she told him to let go. He finally let go before she left the lot.

A deputy explained to the man and woman the procedures for filing a warrant.

I hate road rage. I hate

I hate road rage. I hate putting up with people driving like idiots, then getting steamed when others don't appreciate their lack of manners and concern for others on the road.

Oh, and BTW, buddy. Dead is dead, whether you're a "marine" or not. Whether you were in the right or in the wrong, she would have been justified in shooting you for trying to stop her from driving off. Cool off next time before you jump out of your vehicle. The life you save may be your own. (If the article has the facts correct.)

Road rage is indeed stupid--

Road rage is indeed stupid, it can also be deadly. The woman was within her rights to have and defend herself with her gun. Mr. Marine is lucky he didn't get shot for his threatening and aggressive behavior. Hopefully in the future both parties will be able to better handle such a situation.
