A man called authorities Friday after he said a woman followed him into a parking lot and pointed a gun at him.
The 37-year-old man said he pulled into the parking lot of the Spirit Halloween store on Bobby Jones Expressway at about 5 p.m. A woman followed him into the lot and pulled up next to him. He approached her vehicle and noticed she was pointing a pistol at him.
The man said he yelled at the woman and called for his wife to call 911 and get the license plate number.
As the woman tried to drive away, the man said he hooked his arm in the woman’s car door and lifted his feet so he didn’t get trapped between the vehicles. He yelled for her to stop, which she finally did. The man ran back to his wife.
The woman said the man had cut her off in traffic on the way to the store. She passed him but then pulled into the lot behind him because she planned to go into the same store. She said the man slammed on brakes, causing her to nearly hit his vehicle. The woman said both doors flew open and the man approached her.
The woman said she pulled out her handgun, set it on the armrest and told the man to get back in his car. The man told her, “You’re going to jail. I’m a Marine.” She said the man hooked his arm in her window as she drove away and she told him to let go. He finally let go before she left the lot.
A deputy explained to the man and woman the procedures for filing a warrant.
