A Grovetown teen was charged with underage drinking Thursday after he came to school drunk.
A Grovetown High School assistant principal said the 15-year-old student was intoxicated at the school and registered a .144 blood alcohol level between 8-8:20 a.m. When a deputy arrived, the teen registered a .140 on a field alcohol sensor, according to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office incident report.
The teen, from Grovetown, was charged with minor in possession of alcohol and was released to his mother.
Three teens also were charged with minor in possession after they were found drinking at a party late Friday. A deputy went to a home on Lariat Circle in Evans just before midnight, responding to an underage drinking complaint.
The deputy found vomit at the top of a stairway. He also found four males at the bottom of the stairs as well as an open bottle of alcohol and a bag of marijuana, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.
One of the males was 21 and was released. Three teens – Chance Michael Welker, 18, Hunter Scott Blake, 18, and Robin Nikolas McAlarney, 17, all of Martinez – tested positive for alcohol and were charged with minor in possession of alcohol and were released to their parents, according to the report.
