Three Columbia County men were arrested early Friday, charged with robbing a man in the laundry room of a Martinez apartment complex earlier in September.
Terry Odell Dumas Jr., 20 of Grovetown; Trey Victor Greaves, 18, of Grovetown; and Troy Colin Greaves, 23, of Evans, were charged with armed robbery and are being held at the Columbia County Detention Center without bond, said Columbia County Sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris.
A man doing laundry in Ridge Crossing Apartments told authorities Sept. 2 that he was robbed of his wallet, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.
The 31-year-old said that he had walked into the laundry room at 9 p.m. to remove his clothes from the washer and two men inside the room told him to give them his wallet. One of the men reached in his pocket and showed him a knife.
The victim tried to run but another man was waiting outside and blocked the door. He was thrown to the ground and pinned down while one man took his wallet, which contained $800 and his ID card. He said the men ran off after taking his wallet.
