An Augusta teen was not injured early Wednesday after her car went off a private road in Evans and into a gulley.
Sanzara Amber Hatcher, 17, of Huntcliffe Drive in Augusta, was late for school at about 8 a.m., Columbia County sheriff’s Deputy Dennis Mack said.
Hatcher was driving her 2008 Ford Focus along the private road by Brown’s Feed and Seed from Washington Road to Old Evans Road. She was driving too fast and lost control on a curve covered in gravel and potholes, Mack said.
The car slid off the road and about 15 feet down a deep gulley near the pond.
Hatcher wasn’t injured and was released to her parents at the scene.
