An Evans woman was one of two people in the Augusta area to claim $500,000 from a Georgia Lottery scratch-off game.
Betty Lanier won the top prize in the Jumbo Jumbo Bucks game on a ticket purchased from the Publix Super Market, 4274 Washington Road, Evans, according to a news release from the Georgia Lottery.
Another player also won $500,000 from the Georgia Hold ’Em Game with a ticket purchased at a south Augusta convenience store.
In addition, a Fantasy 5 ticket sold at the Circle K at 261 Furys Ferry Road, Martinez, will bring the winner $59,466, the news release said.
The second of three winners of Tuesday’s drawing goes to a ticket purchased at an Augusta convenience store, while the third was sold in Stockbridge, Ga.

ASSUMING
I would ever win, do you HAVE to release who the bigger winners are?
No
you can request not to have your name made public. I would never tell anybody I won the lottery or any money.
Name Release
From my understanding in GA it is a requirement that names are released. Some states honor requests for winners to remain annoymous...I think she might be my cousin or auntie, lol.
