After months of planning and construction, Mike Mulherin, manager of the new Steak ’n Shake, has his eye on the finish line.

The restaurant, located on Jimmie Dyess Parkway at Interstate 20, is scheduled to open Sept. 27.

Mulherin said they recently began accepting applications and setting interviews for the approximately 150 openings expected. About 400 people already have applied, he said.

Training will begin approximately 10 days before the restaurant opens.

Mulherin said applications are available at www.snagajob.com or from the real estate sign outside the restaurant’s construction site.

I think that "Streak ‘n

I think that "Streak ‘n Shake" is a different place. Did you mean Steak ‘n Shake.

Streaking

You are correct. Streak 'n Shake has a much more select clientele. Thanks for the catch.

Grovetown??

While I guess according to the postal service that is Grovetown, that really is not near Grovetown at all.

Just My Opinion

I will go there and try it

I will go there and try it out, and I hope they are wildly successful! But, I also hope that there won't be any problems getting in and out of that place. When I drove by there a few weeks ago, I saw one way in and one way out...and nothing in or out from Belair Road. The safest way to get IN there...from what I saw, anyway (maybe there's a second entrance now??)...is going UP that road that runs parallel with I-20, toward Belair Road. And, to get out, the safest way is to turn right out of there onto that I-20/parallel road, but that'll take you into the lane that MAKES you turn right onto Belair Road....if you want to turn left onto Belair, or go straight across Belair at that red light, you have to CROSS the right-turn lane..and hope the traffic isn't already backed up on that I-20/parallel road! At this point, I'll tell my new-driver child to only go there if I am driving...she's too inexperienced to attempt something that difficult! Like I said, I really, really HOPE they've solved this and have put in some other entrance/exit. If they haven't, then the place was NOT well thought out, because there WILL be accidents there. Please...and I mean this...if someone knows something I don't (which isn't hard to do!),then post it here. Thanks!

Kinda sad...

We went to Chilis the other night for supper and I noticed how many available tables there were. We started talking about how it reflects our still floundering economy. 5 years ago, it didn't matter what night of the week or where you went out to eat at that time of the evening~there was ALWAYS a waiting time. Seems like now, there is plenty of room. Just walk right in, plenty of available tables! I hope Steak N Shake makes it.
