A fake Facebook page was created last weekend that depicted a candidate in the 12th District runoff race in an obscene manner.

Lee Anderson called authorities Sunday and told them that someone created a false Facebook account under his name, according to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

Anderson said a picture was posted on Facebook of his face on another man’s body who was engaged in sexual activity. The picture also was posted on Anderson’s campaign Web site and e-mailed to many people on his contact list.

The picture has been deleted from Facebook and Anderson’s campaign Web site.

Both Facebook and the creators of Anderson’s Web site were alerted of the incident.

Anderson will face either Rick Allen or Wright McLeod in a runoff race Aug. 21.

Many Arrows

Unfortunate Attack

There are enough legitimate issues with the Anderson candidacy without such tactics.
