A Martinez man was seriously injured after flipping his sedan into his neighbor’s driveway early Thursday.
Henry Wilson Josey, 78, was trying to back his sedan down the driveway of his Woodland Drive home at about 9 a.m., when he said he lost control, Columbia County sheriff’s Deputy Jim DiArenzo said. The car went backwards off a retaining wall next to the driveway and flipped upside down in the neighbor’s driveway.
Josey was trapped inside the flipped car for about 20 minutes before a neighbor saw him and called 911, DiArenzo said.
Josey had not been drinking, but had backed into his front door attempting to unload groceries before the wreck. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
