A Grovetown man was arrested late Wednesday after beating his ex-girlfriend unconscious.

George Scott Dillard, 45, of Sugar Creek Drive, was charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, burglary and two counts of cruelty to children.

Dillard’s 25-year-old ex-girlfriend called deputies, who found her beaten and hysterical inside her Ridge Crossing apartment just after 9 p.m.

She said just before 9 p.m., she heard a knock at the door and found her 4-year-old son outside the door crying. As she hugged him, the woman said she heard her 2-year-old son crying and saw him in his car seat in Dillard’s truck parked in front of her apartment. The woman said she smelled alcohol on Dillard, so she grabbed her son and told Dillard to leave. Dillard yelled at her, called her names and followed the woman and her children to the apartment.

As she tried to close the door, the woman said Dillard forced his way into the apartment, shoved her down, straddled her and punched her in the face and head. After several punches, Dillard stood up, kicked his ex-girlfriend in the ribs numerous times then stomped on her neck and head until she lost consciousness. She said she woke up to more punches to the face but got away, crawled to the bedroom and tried to call 911.

The woman said Dillard grabbed her throat and threw her on the bed, where he straddled her and choked her unconscious while telling her, “I’m gonna kill you right here and now.” She woke again to more punches to her face, but managed to get away from Dillard long enough to crawl to the bathroom. He forced the door open, where he choked his ex-girlfriend unconscious again. She woke this time to kicks in the stomach and ribs.

The woman said she ran past Dillard out of the bathroom, but he grabbed her hair and slung her back in, where he continued to punch her body. Every time she tried to escape, the woman said Dillard would pull her by the hair back into the bathroom.

Dillard continued to punch and kick the woman until she curled up in the fetal position and covered her head and neck. She didn’t remember anything else until deputies arrived.

The property manager told deputies that Dillard was served with a warning to not trespass on the property and that he was no longer allowed there because he continually harassed his ex-girlfriend. The manager said she denied Dillard when he asked about renting the apartment next to his ex-girlfriend and reminded him not to be on the property.

Witnesses directed deputies to the apartment, where they said the screaming had stopped. When deputies knocked, the woman’s two children answered the door and pointed deputies to a bedroom, where they found Dillard bent over and backing out of the bathroom. Deputies handcuffed Dillard after he approached them with clenched fists and refused to obey commands. His knuckles were swollen and bleeding.

The woman stumbled out of the bathroom holding her arm, which was severely swollen and likely broken. She also had numerous bruises, was bleeding from her mouth, had extreme swelling of the jaw and bleeding from her ear. She also had boot-shaped abrasions and bruises on her head, neck and shoulders.

Emergency medical personnel told deputies that the woman suffered a severe concussion and likely had broken bones in both arms, her jaw and ribs.

Dillard continued to shout obscenities to everyone, including his ex-girlfriend, until he was taken to the Columbia County Detention Center.

Dillard is being held at the jail without bond.

Young Lady beaten by Ex-Boyfriend

I was reading yesterday where one peson said that she supposed that people will believe the victim when she and her family had known the man for years and knew that he would never hurt anyone. It is amazing that this same man had used a tire tool on another woman earlier in his life.

The young lady in question is my Neice and even if she wasn't my neice could never try to defend someone that had so brutaly beaten anyone, male or female. In this day and age of The Obama Administration I am never shocked of anyone being responsible for their actions and that there are people that are trying to defend someone's violent actions. I guess it had to be anyone's fault but the person that performed this dastardly deed to a defenseless young lady.

George Scott Dillard does not deserve the right to be walking as a free man amongst any of us. How many other people have to be subject to Mr. Dillard's Dastardly deeds? I guess my Neice's children should be proud of how their Father had treated their Mother and I wonder if either of those boys should ever have to worry about the same kind of treatment from their Father on them?
