Five arrested for selling drugs

Five men were charged late Friday with selling drugs in Appling.

The arrested were made after Columbia County Sheriff’s Office investigators executed search warrants at two homes on McCladdie Drive Friday evening.

After searching 3178 McCladdie Drive, investigators charged Floyd Curry Jr., 31, who lives at the house, with four counts of selling cocaine. Authorities seized $1,323 in cash and a pistol, according to Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris. Curry is being held in the Columbia County Detention Center without bond, according to jail records.

Authorities arrested two people in connection to the warrant executed at 3194 McCladdie Drive. Gordon Latrelle McCladdie Jr., 36, of 3188 McCladdie Drive, and LaVictor Miguelle Conley, 37, of Cummings Road in Augusta, were charged. McCladdie had 57 Methadone pills, 250.7 grams of marijuana and $1,146 cash in his possession, Morris said. He was charged with possession of a Schedule II drug, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and selling cocaine, according to Morris. He’s being held in the jail without bond, according to jail records.

Conley, who had 57 Methadone pills and 277.17 grams of marijuana, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a Schedule II drug, Morris said. He was released after posting a $15,200 bond, according to jail records.

Demaris Centrell Norman, 31, of 3154 McCladdie Drive, was arrested on the 3100 block and authorities seized $669 cash from him. Norman was charged with two counts of selling cocaine and two counts of marijuana with intent to distribute. Cedric Deon Curry, of 3174 McCladdie Drive, was arrested at an Evans restaurant, Morris said. He was charged with four counts of selling cocaine. Norman and Cedric Curry are being held in the jail without bond, according to jail records.
