An Evans man was in stable condition Tuesday morning after getting shot outside his home Monday.

Julian Derrick Bell, 25, told authorities that he was playing basketball at Wedgewood Park Apartments Monday evening when he got into an argument with two men. Before it escalated, Bell went home about 10:45 p.m., according to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

When Bell parked at his home on Evans to Locks Road, he said two men approached him and fired several shots from a handgun into his vehicle, according to the report.

Bell was hit once in the abdomen and twice in the left thigh. He was transported to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital, where he underwent surgery early Tuesday, sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris said.

Morris did not provide more information on the shooting or descriptions
of suspects Tuesday morning.

It is just sad how this

It is just sad how this happens. Columbia County does know which complexes have the most problems but they refuse to do anything about it. They do not patrol through these areas; they take it as a joke. I've seen it. Unfortunately it takes someone getting shot for them to open their eyes. Let's see if they take it serious now.

Coffee for the editors please.....

The headline did it's job....grabbed my attention and made me read to find out how on earth one man got shot three separate times in one day.

Ridiculous

At the rate CC is going, the SO might want to consider a substation at the old Food Lion on Old Petersburg Rd! Only going to get worse for that area.
