An Atlanta dance group will perform Friday as a benefit for Aimee Copeland.

Moving in the Spirit, a nationally recognized youth dance group from Atlanta, will be performing at 7 p.m. at Augusta Preparatory Day School, 285 Flowing Wells Road, Martinez.

Admission is free. Donations will be accepted for the Aimee Copeland Fund.

Copeland, a 24-year-old from Snellville, Ga., is battling an aggressive bacterial infection in the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital.

The University of West Georgia graduate student was infected after she fell from a homemade zip line May 1 and suffered a major cut to her leg. To save her life, doctors amputated her left leg at the hip, her right foot and her hands.
