A man being held in custody is apparently connected to another arrest made this week.
Michael Dewayne Ware was arrested Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. on five felony counts of entering an automobile with the intent to commit a theft.
In an email sent by Capt. Steve Morris of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Saturday morning, he indicated that the 25-year-old Ware, who resides at 4011 Sibley Court in Augusta, is the partner of Charles Derrick Larke, who was arrested Wednesday morning.
No other information about the arrest was immediately available.
Larke, the 28-year-old son of former Superintendent Charles Larke, was charged with fleeing and attempting to elude police, entering an automobile with the intent to commit a theft, and several traffic charges.
Police had been searching for Larke’s accomplice since Wednesday.
Ware and Larke are being held in the Columbia County Detention Center without bond, according to jail records.
