A motorist called Columbia County authorities Wednesday morning reporting an inappropriately dressed woman waving a “Bite Me” sign.

The woman, Nancy Seitz, is a professional “sign shaker,” who does many kinds of advertising for businesses, including holding roadside signs and wearing costumes. She’s often seen waving signs in front of Mullins Crossing or for Maryland Fried Chicken in Evans.

Seitz was hired by Mosquito Squad to dance with a sign advertising the business on Fury’s Ferry Road at Park Lane.

Deputies did ride by Seitz, who was holding the sign near the back entrance of West Lake subdivision, but never stopped or spoke to Seitz.

Complaint

The complainant was probably a 300lb middle-aged, bible thumping housewife. Lighten up snapperhead!

Great Advertisement!

This article is a great advertisement for Mosquito Squad! lol I frequently see this young lady and she has never been inappropriate when I have seen her.

Just My Opinion

Oh, come on!

You know, some people just don't have anything better to do than to complain. Like others, I've seen this young lady plenty of times and she ALWAYS has a smile on her face and is just working, working away! She seems to give her all for whatever it is she is advertising. Isn't that a good thing? Sure it is. And, yeah, she is usually always wearing shorts, but it's HOT outside and she's out there for hours. I've never seen her dress or dance in a provacative manner. I hope that the businesses who employ her are NOT intimidated by one loud-mouthed, irritated motorist!

Really!

I have seen this sign person before many times at the entrance of the Target shopping area in Evans and always thought "dang that girl has some energy" lol. You have to be pretty insecure to be offended by that.

Leave Nancy alone. Dudes are

Leave Nancy alone. Dudes are going to rubberneck that and then crash. Not saying a good or bad thing, just is gonna happen.

Safety Shoes

She is inappropriately dressed. OSHA rules require steel-toed safety shoes.

@LL: I certainly hope that

@LL: I certainly hope that was sarcasm...

Also, "professional sign shaker" will surely pad that resume!

Shakin yo' money maker!

Mosquito Squad is getting WAY more than their money's worth with Nancy. Way to go viral, girl!

I agree raul !!

You've got to be kidding me ! I say 300 lbs with ugly legs ! Even the deputies thought it was a joke... Reality check, please...

People

who complain loudest, it seems, have the most insecurities and an inflated sense of self-worth.

if you really want this stopped...

I don't have a dog in this fight; I don't live in Evans. North Augusta, SC has an ordinance or something against "sign-shakers" for safety and liability reasons. If Evans doesn't have such an ordinance, leave these workers alone or get an ordinance passed and enforce it. Meanwhile, if you don't have a problem with this type of advertising at the side of busy roads, don't complain if you end up rear-ended by some distracted driver checking out the signs and sign holders or worse, hit a car in front of you.

I've seen her before...

...and I don't have any problems with this young lady. Not sure about steel-toes boots, however...but if she needs to be wearing them in order for her employer to be OSHA compliant, they may want to consider purchasing her a pair. She is working an honest job, enduring the extremities of weather, and smiling while she's at it... probably experiencing a wolf whistle or two, as well. The person complaining was probably insulted by the stares of her (or his LOL~) companion. It's not like she's doing a strip tease out on the corner in Evans. Sheesh.

Love the sign lady!

I see this lady a lot in our area, and she always brings a smile to my face. She is always dressed appropriately and does a great job at what she does. I can't believe someone would complain about her.

belle

complaining to the wrong person...

This woman is earning an honest day's pay. She is not doing anything wrong. I remember when I first saw this sign...I was slightly amused and slightly offended that the company would use this saying... I said slightly. Not enough to think about it twice and not offended by her. If you feel the slogan is inappropriate you can 1: not do business with this company
2: call the company and complain. The police have much better things to do.

Dixieman

Motorist needs to develop a sense of humor...

...and get a life! Nothing wrong with this cheerful young lady.

Mudfish

sign holder.

The only thing I have to say is most of these sign holders or dancers are too fast to read what the signs are for when you are passing by. I would like to see what they are advertising.
