Columbia County authorities are looking for a man they say recently broke the window out of vehicle parked in front of a Martinez home.

A 37-year-old Martinez man called deputies Tuesday claiming someone broke the back driver’s side door out of his 2003 Lincoln Navigator a week earlier. The man reviewed footage from the video surveillance system monitoring his Orchard Hill Drive property.

The footage showed that a man looked into the vehicle with a flashlight at about 4 a.m. on May 3, then broke the window. The homeowner said he thinks an iPod was stolen.

Anyone with information about the thief’s identity or whereabouts should call the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 541-2800.
