A man that police found unconscious on a road median Tuesday died at an area hospital.

A deputy found 62-year-old Eddie Reville, laying in the center median of Jimmie Dyess Parkway at Park West Drive just after midnight. Reville was not breathing and he had abrasions on his right knee and right arm.

He was transported to Doctors Hospital, where he later died in the Intensive Care Unit, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Deputies found a key to a room at the nearby Econo Lodge, where authorities found in Reville's personal items, medications and a Ruger P95 handgun.

So we get a detailed description of the handgun, but nothing about his other possessions, like the brand of underwear, toothpaste and deodorant, or the types of medications, or whether or not his mother prints his name inside the waistband of his briefs.

Why detail the handgun? No mention is made of whether or not the weapon is legally owned, or if the fellow had a permit to carry it.

Just a sort of "OMG, he had a gun and it was a Ruger!"
