Tickets for the American Red Cross’ largest local fundraiser, the 18th annual Boot Scoot Boogie Bash, are going fast.
Only about 20 tickets costing $100 are still available as of Thursday for the event to be held Feb. 4 at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion.
Beginning at 6 p.m., guests will feast on a chicken barbecue dinner prepared by area firefighters and Wife Saver while listening to a country music. A cash bar will also be set up.
About $80,000 was raised for the Augusta chapter of the American Red Cross last year, said executive director Jennifer Pennington.
“We’ve always had great support from the community for this event,” she said. “It’s a great evening.”
Items to be auctioned off during the bash include a Club Car vehicle, a John Deere riding lawn mower, a week-long stay at a Fripp Island beach home, and other prizes.
A Gold Bonanza reverse raffle will give people the chance to win $10,000 in 24-karat gold bullion. Tickets for the raffle cost $100.
Proceeds raised at Red Cross fundraising events go toward providing relief to those affected by disasters in the community, training efforts and other services.
