While Clemson University and West Virginia fans will be watching the football game during tonight's Orange Bowl, Harlem High School fans will be looking for their band during halftime.
The marching band traveled this weekend to Miami for the Orange Bowl, where the members are set to perform tonight (8 p.m., ESPN) along with other high school bands during the haltime show.
Mass rehearsals for the band started this morning, following competitions the previous day in which the Harlem band won second place in its division and the Flancers flag team won first place in AA auxiliary competition, said Harlem drumline member Zachary Burrell.
In addtion, the Harlem band was chosen to unfurl a giant American flag during the halftime show.
"We are having a blast," Burrell said in an email. "We will be performing with the group 'Train' tonight. It sounds awesome!"
Burrell added that the Harlem band was recognized as the only band in the group to have memorized all its music prior to practice.
"We are really working hard to make our hometown proud of us," Burrell said. "We are really grateful."
