Following a Monday cold snap that produced freezing temperatures during the night, Columbia County officials sent out a warning to residents and businesses to turn off automatic sprinklers.
“Every year, it’s a problem,” county Emergency Services Director Pam Tucker said in an email. “Runoff from sprinklers freezes on the roadways, causing hazardous driving conditions.”
The low this evening is expected to dip to 18 degrees. Freezing temperatures also are expected Wednesday and Thursday.
