Westbound traffic on Interstate 20 at Belair Road is temporarily restricted to a single lane starting at 9 a.m. while bridge inspectors examine the damage from a Wednesday wreck.
The lane will re-open once the inspection is complete, according to state Department of Transportation spokeswoman Cissy McNure.
A dump truck was traveling west on the interstate, said Columbia County sheriff's Capt. Steve Morris, and the driver was unaware that the dump body was raised.
The dump crashed into the Belair Road overpass, wedging the vehicle underneath, Morris said.
I-20 was restricted to one lane westbound, and was shut down entirely for a while to remove the dump truck.
