School programs honor veterans

Columbia County schools this week offered programs to honor area veterans.

Schools, including Evans Elementary, Harlem Middle and Lewiston Elementary, held special assemblies to welcome veterans during the week of Veterans Day.

On Thursday, residents of the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home visited Evans Elementary for a patriotic tribute from students and staff.
