Traffic is moving steadily again on Appling Harlem Road following a wreck this morning at the intersection of Interstate 20.
The driver of a Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck heading south on Appling Harlem Road turned left into the path of a Jeep Liberty traveling north at about 6:30 a.m. in an attempt to enter the eastbound on-ramp of I-20.
The Jeep struck the pickup, knocking it over a guardrail and down an embankment, said a Columbia County sheriff’s deputy still at the scene once the wreckage had been cleared.
No one was injured in the crash, said the deputy.
However, the wreck created a traffic snarl on Appling Harlem Road for more than an hour.
The driver of the truck will be charged with failure to yield.
