A man called the Columbia County Sheriff's Office late Friday claiming someone shot at his car when he stopped for a traffic signal in Martinez.
The 56-year-old said that just before 11 p.m. he was stopped at a red light on Flowing Wells Road at Washington Road when someone shot his car and shattered the windshield. He told police his throat was hurting and that he may have swallowed some glass.
Deputies searched the vehicle, which was shot twice. They found a small dent in the leather of the rear driver’s seat, but no projectile.

Shots were likely fired from the railroad tracks behind Sidetrack Bar and Grill, according to a sheriff's office incident report.

Deputies believe the shooter then left on foot toward the residential area behind Abilene Baptist Church.
