Members of the Thomson Fire Department presented a program on fire safety as part of Cornerstone Preschool's Doughnuts for Dads event.

More than 38 preschoolers at Cornerstone Preschool at First Baptist Church shared snacks with their fathers and grandfathers at the school’s annual Doughnuts for Dads on March 8.

The youngsters, ages 2 to 4, presented their dads with Hero Snacks, boxes filled with doughnuts and popcorn and presents they made especially for the occasion.

Lt. Chip Bentley and Capt. Bryan Rogers, of the Thomson Fire Department, presented a program on fire safety, which included a puppet show and a visit from Sparky, a Dalmation who made his entrance in a remote-controlled fire truck.

“The Thomson Twin Cinemas came early this morning and popped popcorn just for us,” said co-organizer Alice Gary.
