While team points counted in the end, the Evans Traditional Black and Gold Tournament on Saturday had wrestlers working their way through brackets.
At the end of the day it was the Knights who were the top team with 205 points.
“We had a very good showing today,” said Evans coach Rich Davis, who had four of six wrestlers competing in the championship round take home first-place finishes. “We had good performances from our veteran wrestlers. Gavin (Pence) was a champion, Jay (Allen) was a champion. Colbi Craig, he’s a freshman, that was a bonus for us, too.”
