A Harlem High School senior was killed Tuesday after his SUV flipped and hit a tree in Appling.

Jonathan Hartman, 18, of Appling, was pronounced dead at 10:18 p.m. at Medical College of Georgia Hospital, according to Columbia County Deputy Coroner Bonnie Holloway. He died of head trauma, she said.
