Grovetown officials have scheduled a March special election to fill an empty council seat.
Former City Councilwoman Jennifer Jones resigned Jan. 17 with nearly three years left of her term, which expires at the end of 2015, according to City Manager Shirley Beasley.
A special election is set for March 19 to fill Jones’ unexpired term.
Qualifying for the special election will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 20-12 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 22 at City Hall.
