Crews work to remove a tree that was blown down by winds and rain from Hurricane Irma near a home on Fornum Drive in Grovetown.

Grovetown crews are continuing cleanup efforts today which could continue to delay normal rough trash pick up schedules.

According to an update on the city's website, crews will return to normal inert and rough trash pickup after all storm-related cleanup is complete.

"We ask that you please remain patient as we work to address the effects of Hurricane Irma. Please keep storm-related trees, branches, debris and trash separated from day to day inert and rough trash," a message on the city's website stated.

Several areas in the city remain without power including the vicinity of Saxon Court and Walton Drive.

In addition, the following roads remain closed due to downed power lines: Saxon Court; and 4th Avenue at Dorn Street. The roads will be reopened following repairs from Georgia Power.

The boardwalk section of Euchee Creek Trails is also temporarily closed due to a tree that is blocking the path. All other trails are open.

To report other areas in the city of Grovetown without power, if roads are blocked by downed trees or other debris, or if there is no phone or cable service, please contact the Grovetown Department of Public Safety Dispatch at (706) 863-1212 or City Hall, (706) 863-4576, and choose the option for Planning and Development to report the problem.
