Some boats at Pointes West marina were damaged in an April storm. Two docks opened Saturday after months of cleanup.

Patrons will be able to return to docks at the Pointes West Army Resort at Clarks Hill Lake for the first time since a severe storm struck the area in April.

Officials stated in a news release that patrons have been informed boats will be welcome at docks B and C beginning Saturday, July 1.

Charges will be waived for the month of July "due to the inconvenience that was experienced by those patrons," the release stated. The marina ramps will also re-open Saturday.

The release stated the resort is in the contracting phase to restore dock A and the fuel point where the most damage occurred.

According to previous reports, the storm damaged over 50 of the 88 boats docked at the marina and caused a fuel leak that required a months-long cleanup process.
