The Child Enrichment program recently held a Volunteer Appreciation and 20-Year Celebration of CASA. The event honored CEI volunteers and judges Carlisle Overstreet and James Blanchard. Participating in the event with Overstreet and Blanchard were Renee Morrow, advocacy coordinator; Brittany Bush, advocacy coordinator; Dawn Charleston-Green, CASA program director; Jennifer McKinzie, Juvenile Court judge Augusta Judicial Circuit; Kenya Phillips, advocacy coordinator; Douglas Flanagan, Juvenile Court judge Augusta Judicial Circuit and Dan Hillman, Child Enrichment executive director.
Four Grovetown Middle School sixth-grade pupils won the Publix Go Green contest. Cole Wollett, Edrick Olivar, Londyn Lilly and Josie McDaniel submitted a video that discussed ways to conserve and sustain our natural resources. Each pupil received a $400 gift card to the Apple store and the participating teacher, Tina Zimmerman, won a $100 gift card to Publix.
Several 2014 Harlem Bulldog graduates visited North Harlem Elementary for their annual "Clap-Out" in honor of the fifth-grade graduates. All the students and staff lined the hallways to clap and cheer for the fifth-grade graduates. Many of the Harlem High students are former North Harlem Elementary Bullpups.
