A Grovetown teen was not seriously injured after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing Harlem-Grovetown Road Tuesday.
Pablo Angel Lopez, 13, was crossing the road at Old Berzelia Road with a friend just before 3 p.m. The pair crossed the eastbound lane and stopped in the center of the road to allow for eastbound traffic, according to Grovetown Department of Public Safety Officer Jacob Rambo.
As they stopped, Pablo is believed to have slid on some gravel sending his outstretched leg into the lane of traffic.
A westbound GMC Jimmy, driven by Brandon Hutto, of Martinez, ran over Pablo's foot or ankle, Rambo said.
The teen was taken to the Georgia Regents Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
