The Nutrition Advisory Council at Baker Place Elementary, called the Healthy Eagles, have planted a vegetable garden at the school. Maner Building Supply donated the wood for the frame, while Lowe's and Grovetown Farm and Garden Center donated soil. The students also received a $50 grant from the Georgia School Nutrition Association, which they used to purchase plants, fertilizer and a water hose. The students planted broccoli, cabbage, collard greens and radiccio. Their goal is to see the garden grow, learn some recipes with the vegetables, and cook a meal for their parents. Special Photo
