A Martinez woman told authorities Tuesday that someone she had invited over to swim attempted to drown her.

The 37-year-old woman said she invited a male friend and his friend to her home to go swimming. She said they were hanging out around the pool, drinking alcohol and swimming at about 11 p.m. when the man grabbed her from behind and dunked her underwater three times, according to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

The woman said the third time she was dunked the man held her under so long she almost lost consciousness. The man released her and the pair of men left without speaking to her, according to the report.

The woman said she didn’t think the incident was just horseplay, but she believed he was really trying to hurt her.

Alcohol is not a dangerous drug.

No alcohol, no fun. Always. DUI, vehicular homicide, domestic violence, drownings, child abuse are all a part of alcohol fun. CC will rule "no intent" to commit a crime. CC has that "wisdom on loan from GOD".

wonder what casual acquaintances or enemies do to her???

Who's to blame?????

You can't blame the alcohol just like you can't blame the gun....you blame the person responsible for not being responsible. People like to use things as as excuse, 'well I was drunk, or I was high on drugs" well who made you drink or use drugs? No one but you, so I don't blame alcohol, there are many people who know how to take an occasional drink without acting the fool or trying to kill someone.

Wow! With friends like that, who needs enemies?
