River Ridge Elementary pupils Emmie Reeves (left) and Hannah Garrett were state winners in the SBWO Poster contest sponsored by the U.S. Forestry Service in collaboration with the National Garden Clubs, Inc. Emmie took first place for third-grade entries and Hannah had a third place for first-graders. In addition, Emmie's poster won a blue ribbon for her grade level in the six-state Deep South Region competition.This is the third year Spade and Trowel Garden Club of Augusta has worked with art teacher Courtney Owen for the competition.
Alexander Karl Duggan, a 2010 graduate of Greenbrier High School, was named to the Dean's List for spring 2012 at the University of Georgia, where he is majoring in biology/pre-med.
