Twins Sydney and Caitlyn Harper, 9, won a prize for their Thing 1 and Thing 2 costumes at River Ridge Elementary. The school held a Dr. Seuss costume contest Friday for Read Across America Week on the birthday of Dr. Seuss.

School Superintendent Charles Nagle visited first-graders in Room 14 at Bel Air Elementary School on Dr. Seuss' birthday and read If I Ran the Circus. Each of the students earned their own ticket to Six Flags by participating in the Read to Succeed program.
