Guilford College senior Laura Kopald, an Augusta Prep graduate, recently finished her fourth and final volleyball season. Kopald appeared as a right-side hitter in all 27 of the Quakers' matches this year, starting 17. She led the team in kills with 219 and was second in kills per set, averaging 2.26. She ended the season with a .221 hitting percentage. Kopald topped the team in service aces with 43.

The Storm won 8-7 in the Martinez Evans Fall Minors championship game. Eunice Yi, of Evans, won her division of the Furman University Junior Shootout at the Furman Golf Club in Greenville, S.C., with a two-day score of 7-over-par 151.
