Just 3,100 general-admission tickets were sold for Friday’s Lady Antebellum concert at the Evans Town Center Park.
But Lady A fans won’t necessarily need a ticket to enjoy the show.
“I guarantee there’s going to be a lot of that,” Columbia County Community Events Specialist Keela Colombraro said of fans crowding around the fringes of the park on Evans Town Center Boulevard to at least hear the concert.
“We had talked about blocking off the street, but we decided that it’s a community park ... and people are welcome do that,” Colombraro said. “We decided the more the merrier.”
Two nearby restaurants share Colombraro’s sentiment.
“I have staffed extra for our patio, because you’ll probably be able to hear (the concert) from there,” said Chili’s Bar and Grill Operating Partner Jessica Fane.
Also, the restaurant at 700 Ronald Reagan Drive will offer food and drink specials before, during and after the concert, Fane said.
Specials include $2.99 margaritas and others on food items.
Fane said she expects a 25-percent uptick in business over a typical Friday evening.
JoJo Marquez, manager of Poblano’s Mexican Grill at 663 N. Belair Road, also foresees a big night for his eatery.
“There’s a lot of people calling about specials,” he said. “There’s a guy who called me (Tuesday) and wants to bring a big party, 35 people, for the patio so they can hear (the concert).”
Marquez said he didn’t know yet on Wednesday what specials the restaurant might offer Friday.
“I’m thinking a lot of people are going to come and we want to them to be happy, so we’ll come up with something,” he said.
