Columbia County sheriff's deputies are seeking two white males driving a purple Mazda for a car break-in at a Grovetown motel on Oct. 9, 2011.

Columbia County sheriff's deputies are seeking two men believed to have stolen a jacket and vehicle registration last week from a car parked at a Grovetown motel.

"Two white males were seen in (a security) video looking in every car in the parking lot," Columbia County sheriff's Capt. Steve Morris said in an email.

The men were driving a purple Mazda pick-up truck.

The incident happened at the Econo Lodge on Jimmie Dyess Parkway.

The victim told police he left his 1995 Buick Century unlocked when he retrieved an item from it at about 3 a.m. Oct. 9.

When the North Carolina resident returned to the car at about 6 a.m., he said the back door had been opened and the jacket and registration were missing.

Anyone with information about the men or the break-in should call the sheriff's office at (706) 541-2800.
