There was a buzz at South Columbia Elementary School on Friday.
The children, teachers and staff alike were excited for the final day of the school year.
“It’s a whirlwind,” Principal Lisa Reeder said of the last day before pupils and teachers get more than two months for summer break.
Pupils could hardly contain their excitement waiting for the final bell. They squealed and giggled as they enjoyed some festive cake or an “extra” recess.
“It’s a day of celebration,” school Superintendent Dr. Sandra Carraway said.
