The Riverside Middle School gymnasium, filled with students, faculty and guests Wednesday, was silent as a table was set for one in the center of the floor.
Students and volunteer veterans meticulously set a single plate, glass, candle, saber, lemon and salt at the Fallen Comrade table during the school’s Veterans Day Celebration.
“The table really represents the men and women who cannot be here to celebrate with us,” retired Army Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Clark told the gathered students. “Not everyone comes home.”
