How well the Harlem High Bulldogs do at the plate might determine how well they do in 2015.
A year ago, the Bulldogs finished 12-15, ousted from the first round of the GHSA Class AA State playoffs after finishing second in Region 3-AA. They had only one player hit over .277 and got only 26 extra base hits in 735 trips to the plate.
“We can be just as competitive if we can score some runs,” said coach Jimmie Lewis, who wants a team batting average close to .300. “Last year we won a lot of 2-1, nine-inning games. This year we’re going to have to hit the baseball.”
