Defense kept them in the game until Harlem’s hitters came through March 11.
Trailing 2-0 entering their half of the fifth inning, the Bulldogs pushed a run across to cut the deficit in half, then struck for five sixth-inning runs to beat Region 3-AA foe Swainsboro 6-2.
“That was a big win for us, that was big,” Harlem coach Jimmie Lewis said. “You can see teams in our region are pretty evenly matched.”
The Bulldogs improved to 6-4, 2-1 in the region, stopping a two-game losing streak. The Tigers dropped to 1-5, 0-3.
