Closed for just short of two months, Gordon Park Speedway will be back racing on Saturday.
Grovetown’s racing establishment was shuttered May 16 by the state fire marshal after multiple violations were found.
That all changed June 29 when the fire marshal gave his stamp of approval.
“We passed inspection and we’re good to go,” said speedway general manager Brian Stewart.
The shutdown was costlier than the $30,000 Stewart estimated the speedway would lose if they reopened in the middle of June.
