The next exhibit coming to the Museum will have a portion of it devoted to the 1996 Olympics. The first Olympic Torch Run originated with the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, and during the 1996 torch run, the relay came through Thomson and Dearing.
Maya Angelou has been the Reynolds Professor of American Studies at Wake Forest University since 1991. How she got there is quite a story. A noted poet, novelist, educator and civil rights activist. Maya was born in 1928 in St. Louis.

Yesterday, as I was framing pictures for the new exhibit at The McDuffie Museum, I was in the back room by myself when I looked out the window. I saw a black man hurrying through the parking lot, holding what looked to be a framed picture.
To the editor: The McDuffie Museum's Civil War display is ending at the end of January. You still have time to see the many images of soldiers and politicians taken during the war. The most valuable image on display is a signed carte de visite of Gen.
Included in the Civil War display running through Tuesday at the McDuffie Museum is one of only a handful of known maps used by the Federal forces during their advance on Atlanta in 1864.
