Tears flowed freely down Nashaun Mingledolph’s face as the senior was named Grovetown High School’s homecoming queen Friday during halftime.
“I just started crying,” she said. “I’m sure people have it on video.”
The glimmering crown placed on Nashaun’s head by Grovetown’s 2011 queen Erin Plaster complemented her sparkly teal and black dress.
The 17-year-old said she never expected to be crowned queen.
“I didn’t even think I was going to get on court,” she said. “It was just an honor.”
