Shoppers looking for a good deal in the Grovetown area can check out two new businesses next to each other.
Kari Bertrand opened Butternut Books, at 623 E. Robinson Ave., shortly after moving to the area from Colorado.
The book store has long been a dream for Bertrand, whose husband recently retired from the Air Force.
Bertrand said her husband promised that once the couple got settled, she'd be free to pursue the venture.
"I've been an avid reader since I was small," said Bertrand, originally from northern California. "It just felt like a good fit."
