An employee at Pollard Lumber Co. was sent to the hospital Monday after injuring his foot at the Appling sawmill.
The employee, who worked several jobs at the mill, slipped while working and caught his foot under a pulley, said company President Robert Pollard.
The call initially was dispatched to Martinez-Columbia Fire Rescue at about 2:15 p.m. as a possible foot amputation, but Pollard said that was inaccurate information.
“The last I heard, he wasn’t cut,” Pollard said. “He just got his foot hung.”
